Don Oíche Úd I mBeithil (That Night In Bethlehem): This carol comes from my childhood in Ireland and has always been a favourite of mine. Although, for many years, not commonly heard beyond Christmas celebrations in Ireland, it has since become better known outside of the island through the singing of the group ‘Celtic Woman’. The beautiful, if somewhat pensive, melody fits itself perfectly to the duet of harp and cello.
