The Harp Contact Microphone with Dual Input from Accusound

This unit is the same as the AC-SC-6 but is supplied with a dual input power adaptor that has a switch to output microphone level or line level audio. This version can have two input signals, instruments or microphones. The single output signal is the combination or mix of the two input signals. Each input has it's own volume control. When used with a mixing desk or similar the unit can make use of phantom power and should be used with the Mic/Line switch in the Mic position, but this is dependant on your system. If it to be used directly into effects pedals or an amplifier that requires a higher than normal input, then the Mic/Line switch should be in the Line position.  

The standard contact microphone for harp is a thin strip microphone which fixes to the soundboard of the harp.

The blue coloured protective PVC cover allows ample surface to achieve good adhesion to the sound board.

It is fixed using double sided self adhesive tape supplied in the kit.

The positioning of the strip can make a difference to the sound it reproduces so experimentation is important.

We suggest you start 1/3 of the way up the soundboard, to one side and away from any ribs.

The strip is normally fixed to the inside of the soundboard which is unvarnished so it may be easily removed if it is no longer required or to use on another instrument.

This system comes complete with a preamplifier with a volume control in to which you plug the strip and from this via an XLR cable to your mixer amplifier. The preamplifier may be powered by an internal battery or it will use phantom power if this is available from your mixer/amplifier.
